Albanians in this area.
Bratila is located on the slopes of Deçiq Mountain,

panoramic views in the region.
🏛️ Historical importance
Bratila is historically connected with the Albanian Revolt
of 1911.
In April 1911, Albanian fighters led by Ded Gjo Luli, a
leader from the Hot tribe, fought Ottoman forces in the area of Deçiq.
After the victory, Albanians raised the Albanian flag on
Bratila.
This moment became historically important because:
• it was one of the first times the
Albanian national flag was raised publicly in modern times
• it symbolized the fight for
Albanian autonomy and independence.
For people from Malësia,Bratila represents:
• resistance
• freedom
• national pride.
Every year around April 6, people gather on Bratila to
commemorate the uprising led by Ded Gjo Luli.
Today Bratila is known for:
• hiking and nature walks
• historical tourism
• panoramic views of the Malësia
region.
The area around Deçiq Mountain is also popular with locals
for outdoor activities.
✅ Interesting fact:
Many historians say the flag raised on Bratila in 1911
happened before the Albanian independence declaration in 1912 in Vlora, which
makes the place very symbolic in Albanian history.
