The Niagara Waterfall near Tuzi is a famous natural
attraction on the Cemi River. Despite the name, it is not related to the real
Niagara Falls in North America locals gave it that name because of the wide
waterfall shape.
It sits right next to the well-known restaurant Niagara,
which has a terrace directly overlooking the waterfall.
• In winter and spring, when snow
melts and rain increases the river flow, the waterfall becomes large and
powerful.
• In summer, the water level drops
and sometimes the waterfall becomes much smaller or almost disappears.
This happens because the Cemi River flows over limestone
rocks, and when water levels are low it spreads into underground channels.
📸 Why it became famous
The place became famous mainly because of social media
photos and drone videos showing the wide cascade waterfall.
It is now one of the most photographed places near Podgorica
and Tuzi.
✅ Interesting fact:
Even though it is not very tall (about 10 meters), the
waterfall looks very wide during high water, which is why people started calling
it “Niagara”.
