The House of Ded Gjo Luli is a historic stone tower house (kulla) located in the village of Bardhaj, in the Gruda area near Tuzi.
Historical significance
This house is important because it was the home and base of Ded Gjo Luli, one of the most famous leaders of the Albanian uprisings against the Ottoman Empire.
From this area he organized fighters of the Malësia tribes during the Albanian Uprising of 1911, which led to a historic moment when Albanian forces raised the national flag at Deçiq.
The house (kulla)
• Built in the traditional Albanian highland tower style
• Constructed from thick stone walls
• Designed for both living and defense
• Served as a meeting place for tribal leaders and fighters
Today
Today the house is considered a historical and cultural monument of Malësia.
It represents the heritage of the Albanian highlanders (Malësorët) and the legacy of Ded Gjo Luli in the struggle for Albanian rights and autonomy.
