Martin Berishaj is a Kosovo diplomat and academic originally from Tuzi. He completed his primary and secondary education in Tuzi before studying at the Faculty of Social Sciences and later the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where he earned both his Master's and Doctoral degrees. During his time in Slovenia, he was actively involved in cultural life and the political engagement of the Albanian community, including serving as chairman of the Democratic Union of Kosovo, the first Albanian political party in Slovenia.
Berishaj also worked as a university lecturer in Ljubljana and published academic work, including a doctoral dissertation. Beyond academia, he became a member of the leadership of the Vetëvendosje Movement and was involved in political activities related to Kosovo.
He was appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Croatia in 2021 by decree of the President. As ambassador, he has represented Kosovo's interests, strengthened diplomatic relations, and been active in foreign policy discussions.
